UK Car dealers will be able to sell used vehicles through Facebook for the first time.
The social media giant has signed a deal with Motors.co.uk so its dealer car stock listings will appear in Marketplace on Facebook. Motors.co.uk will be activating dealers during the coming months.
Buyers can use location settings in Marketplace to find nearby goods and Motors.co.uk dealers will benefit from their stock appearing in search results alongside private seller posts for relevant used cars terms – such as specific makes and models.
Phill Jones, Managing Director at Motors.co.uk, said: “We are delighted to announce this new solution which will help our dealers reach more online in-market car buyers through their relationship with Motors.co.uk.
“This solution will connect our customers with more consumers who are already using Facebook to search for their next car – making both dealer engagement and the car search process easier.
Potential car buyers will be able to communicate directly with dealers using Messenger via live chat providers like Gubagoo and Contact at once or through lead forms when live chat with a dealer is unavailable.
Annelies Jansen, global director of Marketplace Partnerships at Facebook said: “Since launching vehicles on Marketplace, we’ve seen it continue to grow as one of our most popular categories. We’re excited to expand this new experience to the UK to help people find their next car.”
